Cool concept, I'd like to see a landscape illustration of this city, think it'd look cool as hell.

A landscape illustration ... like a panoramic view from one of the towers?

This looks cool, but only one problem, who would even want to live in there?

Dwarves?

Quite right, those Dwarves have always been a bit mad.

Hey! Let's make Lovecraftian fantasy setting with Dwarves that went literally insane from some eldritch horror! And Humanoid Fae/Elves being corrupted by dark magics and worshiping Chutulhu style monsters... Now that would be fun Dark Fantasy setting...

Well, when I play D&D, elves usually are cthulhu style monsters :D

I want to be a player in your campaign (because of good ideas and great maps.)... If you run either AD&D 2e or Pathfinder RPG...

Actually, I run a homebrew variant of Microlite d20 ... so if you're familiar with either 2nd edition or 3rd edition (or pathfinder), it'd be easy as pie :D

imaginative--did the town create the pit or just exploit it?

Well, according to the story line, the local civilization exploited it after arriving in the area and extirpating the vicious, savage, skin-wearing natives who had been living in the ruins of a giantish civilization.

The perspective is kind of awkward and dizzying to look at, but I honestly can't think of any good way of doing a map like that so not going to say much about it. Great work on the details, can tare at this for quite some time. :)

It's made to be printed out and rotated ... I was thinking of making the labels curve around the center as well, but in the end I was a bit too tired to do that. :)

Now that's seems to be one really interesting town. Sure, the perspective adds even more, but the town itself does already look like a super-fun place to be.
--> Great work.
(And also it's nice to see we've still got some nice river's around, being extra considerate not to flood the pit with people in it, even though passing so sharp ^^)

Wow, this is really well done. I like the perspective, it really makes this map stand out and causes an instant "double take". Good job!

Love the unorthodox approach with the crazy perspective.
It looks like a map that would be drawn by some different type of fantasy society.

Thanks! Though the perspective is a bit ... "forced" (mugged and left bleeding in a back alley)
